Happy Birthday, Greta!

Greta's life on Earth started one year ago today.  She was born a healthy 8lbs, 7oz. at 1:23am.  I thought she was so beautiful the first time I saw her.  I became Greta's mother... a changed person.  I felt strong and capable and knew Craig was too.

Everyone told us to "enjoy every moment."  It seems impossible, but I have certainly slowed down to smell the flowers since welcoming Greta into the world.  Many times over the past year I have told myself to remember the feeling of Greta's tiny body in my arms.  I take mental pictures of her and remind myself to remember "this" moment.  At birth, her foot was as big as my index finger and her back was a wide as my palm.  She's grown so much but is still so little and sweet and snuggly- thank goodness!

Witnessing pure joy and watching her take in this big world has been incredible.  I have captured numerous moments and smiles with my camera and have been so happy to share them with our loving family and friends.  Craig and I still can't get over how beautiful she is... and with such a charming personality.  Nature or nurture?

I am so proud of Greta and the job Craig and I have done as parents so far.  We've caught ourselves saying "this is easy!" but I think "enjoyable" is a better fit.  There have certainly been rough days and some tears, but we have put our all into parenthood and come out with one awesome kid!

What a wonderful year it has been!  Thank you all for being a part of it!

Happy birthday, Greta!  I love you!

Beautiful Anna! It has been so fun to watch Greta grow and to see you (and Craig) become parents... instantly .. as soon as Greta was born! You have both done such a great job and have such a sweet, happy and loving baby G. I love that you have taken time to slow down and really enjoy everything in the moment, that is very inspiring! Excited to celebrate Greta on Saturday! xo Aunty Rad
