Hey, Party People!
Let's hear it for this fall weather- Gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous... In the movie WALL-E, there are robots who help with everything. Some are attending to the caption of the spaceship who is getting ready for the day. They make small talk by saying "Just a trim? I know, honey, I know. You look gorgeous!" Greta and I laugh at that part and it's an inside joke between us. Well, now you know, but you can be in on it. I also asked her if she knew what "gorgeous" meant. She said "healthy." I said that it mostly referred to the way something looks- but healthy usually looks good so she was close. If you haven't seen WALL-E, we highly recommend it.
So, there's been a lot of photo worthy things happening around here in this gorgeous weather. Let's get to it.
On Columbus Day weekend, the Dionne family spent time together on Drake's Island in Wells, ME. We celebrated Erinn's big 29 again!

The following Tuesday, October 15th, Greta had 7" of hair cut off and donated it to charity! She was so excited for her big haircut. We talked a lot about it and watched a video on youtube of a girl getting a bob haircut. Greta loved it from the first snip and hasn't looked back! At first she wanted to give the hair to me, but I asked if it'd be okay to send it to kids who don't have as much hair as she does. She said "yeah, that's okay."
I'm so proud of her and think she is such a beautiful person! Go, Greta!

| So exciting! |
On Sunday the 20th, my friend from the MOMS Club hosted "Trunk or Treat" for the kids. It's a nice safe way for the kids to dress up and get some treats. This friend owns a farm so the setting was awesome and there was even a hayride! Greta has been talking about being Minnie Mouse for Halloween since she was Minnie Mouse for last Halloween. Then for a week or two she wanted to be a farmer, and then maybe a ballerina or farmer, or Minnie Mouse. I was pushing for the farmer but not poo-pooing the other ideas. The day before Truck or Treat she told me she wanted to be a princess. We don't play princess or talk much about them but they come up on TV or in books sometimes. Anyway, I said okay, sure, thinking she could change her mind again.
For fun I looked on pintrest for "easy princess costume" and that got my creative wheels turning, I knew I had some good materials on hand, and Greta was going to be a princess whether she liked it or not. I had an idea to use a t-shirt and just sew some gathered fabric on the bottom for a skirt. I found something very similar (which I cannot find to site at the moment, but I will!) I read through her tutorial and then made up my own version. During my research I found a sewer who called themselves an "advanced beginner" and that's how I like to see myself too. I get easily inspired and want something to work out perfectly and quickly. That doesn't always happen and that's why I liked the idea of this dress being a Halloween costume because it wouldn't have to be "perfect." It would be more well made than one I could buy, it'd be free, and I'd get to be crafty while making something my little girl would enjoy. She wanted it to be blue but I reminded her that she has said she loves all colors. We both like the way it came out! Oh, and after I was done with the dress, I was on a roll so I made the pink fleece cape from
this pattern.
Anyway, we had a blast! Craig and Leo stayed home so I was able to really enjoy the time with my princess!

| Line up! |
| Trunk or Treat! |
| Some older girls wanted to know who Greta was. She said "princess" and then looked at me, and I replied, "She's princess Greta!" Their minds wanted her to be dressed as another, possibly more famous, princess (ie Cinderella). Long live princess Greta! |
| Sooo cute! |
| Felt and ribbon for the chest plate (because I don't want to call it a corset) were easy to use. |
| Enjoying her loot. Like my candy corn bunting too? It's now outside my front door. |
| Some people were most impressed with the pipe cleaner crown. Greta really wanted a crown and I made that one while she napped. I offered it to her with the option to not wear it. Thankfully, she loves it! |
| The stick for our pumpkin bubbles was busted! We were about to complain, when... |
| The hayride started! |
She is very excited for her school Halloween party and real Halloween as well. We both say chocolate is our favorite food.
In other news, yesterday, October 22nd, and Leo turned 9 months old! And on the 17th he officially started crawling. He's such a sweet boy and thrilled with his new skill. He is eating like a champ too, and seeming to prefer little pieces of food to pureed stuff.

| Hi! I have four teeth now. Thanks! |
| So happy (even with a cold!) |
| Just in time for Halloween- creepy cute! |
| Oh, Greta's here? Act cool. |
| She's gone? I can find her! |
| I'm a crawling baby now!! |
Nap time is over so the blog post is over. Bye for now, folks.
