Turning Point

Today was a big day.  Craig went back to work after about a month off.  It started with vacation and turned into disability.  There were some highs, there were some lows but we were able to have some fun.
Greta started preschool today!  She is going to a Montessori school three mornings a week.  She was a little apprehensive but also excited this morning.  She went in happily and came running back to me three hours later with that same beautiful smile.  It's strange to not be with her as she's having new experiences- I'm so curious what she's doing!  But, I'm feeling confident preschool will soon be her favorite place.  She did ask to go back after her nap this afternoon.
While Greta was at school, I joined the local YMCA and had a workout without pushing or carrying another person!  It was glorious!  It's only 5 minutes from Greta's school so it's a perfect activity for me to do while she is getting her learning fun on.
Leo comes with me to the Y, but there is a childwatch program for him.  He was tired and stayed there for an hour this morning.  The women there reported that he had a couple rough points and missed me.  While it's nice to be missed, I'm hoping once we have a routine down he'll be the best 7mo old guy anyone has ever met!  And Leo's big news of the day is that his first tooth is almost in!  You can see it more clearly than feel it.  If it's possible, he might get even cuter with a couple little teeth showing in that big smile.

So, I never got to blog in August but today feels like a fresh start and I'm happy to reflect on and share pictures from the last month with you all.  Enjoy!

Hey, I'm at the beach!

Look!  A kite!

Nice....Zzzzz

Uncle Timmy dug this Greta sized hole.  She enjoyed it with some grapes.

Whitney took a cue from Leo

Oiling and lotioning, lotioning and oiling...

I'm beachy Greta- watch out!

Haha- Auntie K is the best!

Wait a minute,

Cliff is pretty cool!

But Great Grandma....  she is awesome and holds the umbrella for our shade.

I love sweet potatoes!

Good eaters (that night)

Hey, Mom's in this picture!

My guys!

Belly laughs

From Greta too

The beginning of many years of rough housing, eh?

I think he will be able to hold his own.

This morning's scene; Greta's preschool outfit.  She wanted to wear her "super shirt" and I held up at least five shirts before she said yes, that's my "super shirt."  These shorts were all her idea even after I suggested leggings.  In the end, we both loved it.
Greta still loves her morning milk in a bottle.  She has always found touching something soft while she drinks to be soothing, used to be my eyebrows while I held her, then Craig's arm hair, her blanket will do, but the softest thing around is Leo's hair!  And he can't get enough of those two middle fingers! He is also pretty smitten with Norris and Rambo.

She added her froggy boots to the outfit, we remembered her backpack, and she posed for her first day of school shot.  I think her expression says it all.  She is happy, but her fists are clenched, like she's a wee bit nervous...

I asked her for a "ta da" for this picture.  What a cutie!  Off to further her education!
